In Japan, hamburger steak is called “hamburg” or “hambagu.” This is more of a western-style food – it’s not traditional Japanese food – that families in Japan love to cook. Even though it has the word hamburger in it, it doesn’t have the same texture as what we know of as hamburgers. Instead, it looks and tastes more like meatloaf. You could almost call these “low-carb meatloaf patties.” They taste amazing!

Flavored pork rinds can be used if you want to change up the taste.

To make ahead, simple prepare the patties and freeze them. The patties can then be cooked frozen and the sauce prepared fresh.
