Frustrated? Anxious? Then pop on “Doom Eternal,” pick up a shotgun and spend hours literally ripping demons apart in id Software’s follow-up to the 2016 reimagining of the classic “Doom” series. Filled with beautiful environments (in an apocalyptic and chaotic way), the game is one high-octane adventure from start to finish and we won’t be surprised if you start it again after the credits roll.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons
A huge contrast to “Doom Eternal” and released on the same day, AC:NH is for those who want a relaxing experience with no stakes at all, if you can even call the in-game loans you owe Tom Nook that. Instead of shooting demons, you catch butterflies. Instead of running around chasing whatever hellspawn the game throws at you, you simply fish, a lot. Perfect for those who just want something easy and slow-paced.
The Last of Us Part II
This might be a controversial take since the story itself makes a few choices that you might not agree with, especially if you played the first game. But make no mistake, TLOUII is still a marvel in gaming, improving all of the game mechanics from the first to enhance the gameplay. Expect a story that will test your resolve and a gameplay that is even more intense (but creative) than the last.
