3 Important Life Skills that School DOESN’T Teach You #SHORTS

Here are 3 reasons why school doesn’t prepare you for the real world. Number one, individual assessments. In school, students are evaluated as individuals and graded on a curve. This means that when one student wins, another student loses. This adds unnecessary stress and is not an accurate representation of how the real world works. Outside of school, people work on teams with a shared goal. When one person wins, so does everyone else.

Number two, problem-solving. In school, you’re often assigned a textbook chapter, told to carefully read it and take notes, and are tested on the material later. Life, on the other hand, is not so straightforward. You have to take the initiative to figure out what you need to know, where to find the information, and how to absorb it. The path isn’t just laid out in front of you.

Number three, failure. School teaches us that failure is bad and should be avoided at all costs. In the real world, however, failure is an important part of learning. Life is riddled with ups and downs. It’s not about avoiding failure, but rather learning from our failures, getting up, and trying again.
