Even with passion, there will be times when you don’t want to wake up early, put in the work, or do something challenging that’s necessary for your end goal.
Instead, self-discipline, work ethic, and focus are what deliver results.
This isn’t to say that passion isn’t important or helpful, but rather that you shouldn’t let it guide your career trajectory. Instead, take passion with you in whatever you do and cultivate it.
Muhammed Ali once said, “I hated every minute of training, but I said ‘Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.”
Even your dream job will have parts that you like and parts that you don’t. Learn to love the process and view your personal growth as your reward.
Practicing the process isn’t always glamorous, but it will get you to where you want to be if you embrace it.
Remember, your results are the byproduct of your daily actions and habits.
That’s where the magic happens.
