Why You’re Not a Straight-A Student #SHORTS

Videos
Here are 3 reasons why you’re not a straight-A student.

Number one, you’re studying wrong. Most students look at studying as a numbers game – “the more hours I put in, the better I’ll do.” This is a poor approach. Instead of studying *longer*, a better approach is to study efficiently. Focus on honing your study strategies so you can learn more in less time.

Number two, you’re not optimizing for memory consolidation. A huge part of studying efficiently comes down to remembering what you’ve learned. Sleep plays a critical role in memory consolidation and consistent sleep patterns have been correlated with improved academic performance. If you want to perform at a high level, fixing your sleep is a great place to start.

Number three, you’ve taken on an identity. When you perceive yourself as being bad at something, it often becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you think you’re bad at math, for instance, you probably will be because you won’t put the time or effort into improving. Instead, try identifying as the type of student that’s always improving. You’ll dwell on your failures less and learn a lot more in the process.
