Final Fantasy VII Remake
First one on the list is the newest as well and it just came out last month. A full remake of the 1997 classic, the FFVII remake takes the original game’s first chapter and transforms it from a top-down RPG to a gorgeous-looking, third-person RPG that features amazing graphics.
The Last Of Us Remastered
Considered as the definitive title for the PS3, little is done for the HD remaster on the PS4 since the original game is still gorgeous in today’s standards. Nevertheless, it’s a great update and gives PS4 players the chance to experience the game’s emotional story for themselves.
Resident Evil 2
Considered as the pinnacle of Capcom’s zombie franchise, the RE2 remake takes what worked best about the original and updated it to modern standards. This is survival-horror at its absolute peak.
Shadow Of The Colossus
Part adventure, part art and part existential journey, it’s still amazing that this game was able to run on the PS2, which has primitive hardware at this point. Nevertheless, this game’s remake takes the original and gives it a whole new look in HD, almost as if it’s given a new pair of glasses, making this version the definitive one to play.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Compiling the powerhouse games of Halo 1 up to 4 (and adding Halo ODST and Halo Reach as DLC), this high value compilation doesn’t do much but update the game’s graphics for today’s standards. But then again, with action and game play as perfect as the Halo, there really isn’t much to improve. It’s still as fun today as it is a decade ago.
