A 46-year-old woman went to the doctor concerned about a painful, erythematous, indurated plaque on her lower leg. It developed over the past month. At first, she thought maybe she had bumped it and forgotten, but as the area of red skin became larger and seemed to spread, she became more concerned that she might have another deep vein thrombosis.
