Number two, sweating the small stuff, which often led to unnecessary stress and suboptimal results. I’ve since learned to have more compassion for myself and acknowledge the fact that sometimes things just don’t go according to plan. Instead of forcing a square peg into a round hole, I’ve learned it’s best to manage the situation without judgment.
Number three, not structuring my days ahead of time. It wasn’t until medical school that I learned to love the art of scheduling and discipline. This opened up an entirely new way to live more effectively – maximizing both work and play. If I scheduled my days as I do now, my life would have been much easier and I would’ve gotten much more done.
