Improve Your Memory in 60 Seconds with Spaced Repetition #SHORTS

Videos
By repeating our exposure to a piece of information at increasing intervals between each repetition, we can retain the most amount of information in the least amount of time. This technique is known as spaced repetition. Spaced repetition is best used when learning memorization-heavy information, like when studying for the MCAT or USMLE Step 1. The kings of spaced repetition software are Memm for MCAT material and Anki for non-MCAT material. Both programs automate the process of scheduling facts you need to know in the form of flashcards.

To take full advantage of Memm and Anki, you need to make them a part of your daily routine. The more days you miss, the easier it gets to fall behind.

Even going through a few flashcards whenever you have free time will quickly add up.

Only include the most important information when making your deck though. The more cards you make, the easier it gets to fall behind.

Lastly, be honest with yourself. Spaced repetition works best with recall, not recognition. If you can’t get the card correct without looking at the back, then mark the card as incorrect.
