So You Want to Be a PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT #SHORTS

Videos
So you want to be a physician assistant. Physician assistants are licensed clinicians who provide care for patients. They work in collaboration with physicians to take patient histories, conduct physical exams, diagnose diseases, and even perform some procedures.

To become a physician assistant, you must first earn your bachelor’s degree and complete the necessary prerequisites for PA school.

PA school is then two and a half years in duration. Unlike physicians, PAs are not required to complete any additional training after PA school.

The average physician assistant earns approximately $120,000 per year and works 40 hours per week.

If you want to be involved in patient care and make a difference in people’s lives without going through the expensive and time-consuming process of becoming a doctor, becoming a physician assistant may be a good fit.

That being said, the tradeoff is that you’ll never have the same level of autonomy as a doctor when it comes to making decisions for your patients. You’ll always be limited in your roles and responsibilities.
