Here are the top 5 doctor specialties with the highest hourly rate. Number five, cardiology. Cardiologists make an average salary of $490,000, and work an average of 58 hours per week, yielding an average hourly wage of $169 per hour. Number four, ear, nose, and throat. ENT physicians have an average salary of $469,000 per year and work an average of 53 hours per week, averaging $177 per hour. Number three, dermatology. Dermatologists earn on average $438,000 and work an average of 45 hours per week, averaging $195 per hour.

Number two, orthopedic surgery. Orthopedic surgeons’ average annual salary is $557,000 and they work an average of 57 hours per week, yielding an hourly wage of $195 per hour.

Number one, plastic surgery. Plastic surgeons make an average of $576,000 per year and work an average of 52 hours/week, giving us an hourly wage of approximately $222 per hour.
